Tasting notes

A super-classic, old-school Barolo loaded with personality. Notes of rose, strawberry, black cherry, menthol, tobacco and tar. Plenty of fruit and great balance, this has the depth and power but has an elegance that makes for pleasurable drinking! A stunner.

The Grape

Nebbiolo

Often referred to as the king of red grapes, Nebbiolo is responsible for some of the greatest wines in the world. The regions of Barbaresco and Barolo, in Piedmont, Italy, create the most revered expressions of the variety and have set the benchmarks for the world over. Nebbiolo is quite light in colour, dry and delicate but packs a punch in aroma and flavour with notes of rose, tar, cherry, red berries, blood orange, licorice, leather, terracotta and earthy herbals. These wines have high acidity and high tannins, making them extremely age worthy that deepen in complexity over decades. Simply stunning wines!
