Our wish to bring you a fresh, straight-up, drink-young Chardonnay. The fruit comes from 20-year-old vines in Gladysdale, in the most southern part of the Yarra Valley This is a cooler part of the valley where the grapes easily build good flavour whilst retaining natural acidity. We wanted this wine to over-deliver but not overcomplicate, it was fermented in French oak with 10% being new to add texture and complexity. The wine was kept on its fermentation lees for eight months for a touch more weight and better mouthfeel.

The 2021 is bright lemon-green in the glass, and shows aromas of flint, lemon peel and white stone fruits, with a quiet whisper of cinnamon and cream. On the palate, it’s easy and accessible from the word go. White-fleshed fruit crashes over the tongue while natural acidity lends it elegance and drive. The finish is clean, light and mouth-watering, inviting another sip. This is a refreshing, easy-going young Chardonnay that is ready to be enjoyed right now.

One of the most planted, versatile and popular white varieties in the world. As a stand alone grape, Chardonnay is not the most interesting, nor complex varietal out there...but in the hands of a great winemaker it can be turned into one of the world's greatest pleasures! From the best bubbles of Champagne, to the lean, unoaked and mineral expressions of Chablis and the opulent, oaked and complex whites of Burgundy, Chardonnay is responsible for making some of the greatest expressions of white wine on the planet.
