Our fourth incarnation of Eden Valley Chardonnay stays true to our philosophy of seeking elegance and was subsequently awarded a gold medal at the 2020 Melbourne International Wine Competition. Named after our youngest granddaughter Charli, a sophisticated Chardonnay style was intended from the outset. This is an extremely food friendly Chardonnay, ready to roll with soft shell crab, lemon butter scallops, ginger soy flash fried barramundi, twice cooked sticky Chinese pork, marinated satay chicken skewers, or eggplant parmigiana.

Light green tinged pale straw in colour. The perfumed lift of pears, apples and vanilla bean nougat set the aromatics bar high with this Eden Valley Chardonnay, grown in the rugged Eastern Barossa Ranges near Peggy’s Hill. The streamlined sleek elegant palate has a clean steel acid thread running through seamless layers of pear apple fruit and bright spice oak, with an extended line and length to a very tidy finish.

One of the most planted, versatile and popular white varieties in the world. As a stand alone grape, Chardonnay is not the most interesting, nor complex varietal out there...but in the hands of a great winemaker it can be turned into one of the world's greatest pleasures! From the best bubbles of Champagne, to the lean, unoaked and mineral expressions of Chablis and the opulent, oaked and complex whites of Burgundy, Chardonnay is responsible for making some of the greatest expressions of white wine on the planet.
