The Shiraz was sourced from a selection of blocks of from our estate vineyard and selected Shiraz parcels sourced from premium growers in northern Barossa.Once the grapes have been identified to be of optimum maturation and flavour ripeness, the parcels are brought into the winery where they are destemmed and crushed into the open top fermenters. Manual pump overs are conducted twice daily to provide extraction of colour, flavour and tannin. Towards the end of fermentation, the wine is drained and then pressed to a combination of 56% new French and American oak barrels for 20 months maturation. Careful barrel selection takes place before the wine is blended. The wine is neither fined, nor filtered.

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
