Expert review

Medium gold with a rich and highly perfumed nose of chamomile, sweet honeysuckle and hay, complex preserved citrus, nougat, yellow orchid fruits and candied ginger. The background has depth and holds hints of white pepper, snow pea and salty brine. Special. In the mouth it’s rich and seductively textured, bottom heavy and carries you in a free fall of flavour. Ripe white peach, nectarine and pear accompany the flavours of the nose, carved out of the richness by beautifully matched, yet soft acidity and a crystalline edge of minerality. The balance is bang on and it flows effortlessly with inertia. An almost vertical structure reveals levels of complexity that I found myself wandering through in my mind, and thanks to its long and stable tail I had plenty of time to explore. This is great Aussie Roussanne
