Muchada-Leclapart is the southern Spanish winemaking venture from Champagne producer David Léclapart and Andalusian native Alejandro Muchada.Producing wine in the Jerez (a.k.a. Sherry) region of Andalusia, they aim to craft exquisite wines from the region's native Palomino grape, without being bound to the purely traditional ways of making wine. The pair employ biodynamic practices on their three hectares of prestigious old-vine plots in the famed Pago Miraflores vineyard. Working with minimal interventions, they use indigenous yeasts, minimal preservatives, and bottle without filtration.

Unfortified sherry aged in Bordeaux barrels resulting in decadent and intensely flavoured whites with character, electric acidity and charm. Think lemon, guava, candied ginger and chamomile decorated in white florals, vanilla and hints of savoury earth.

Deep straw in colour with a complex, densely packed nose of jasmine, boiled lemon, guava, paw paw, candied ginger, hops and chamomile. There’s an interestingly sweet and earthy coffee-like note hiding in the background. In the mouth it’s voluptuous and deeply flavoured, spiced with ginger, vanilla and plenty of oak. A chew of fine tannin and well matched acidity freshens and tightens those curves. This is delicious drinking!
