Named after the Charles Mingus song ‘Orange was the colour of her dress’. Patrice is experimental in the cave with this wine. 100% Savagnin ouillé (topped up) Made from the "Champ Fort" vineyard (blue and white marl) and " Les Saules " ( Bajocian ) in Mesnay , " Côte de Feule " in Pupillin ( red and grey marl). It consists of Savagnin macerated on skins for 5 and a half months in old oak barrels. Indigenous yeast fermentation, no sulfites and no filtration.

A white grape variety with a home in the Jura, France, and is responsible for wines of great purity, complexity and uniqueness. When made as a dry white, the wines are floral and aromatic with citrus, apples, chewy stonefruit, salinity with a hint of tropicals, but it can also become wildly complex when made in an oxidative manner and develops delicious nutty, mineral and sherry-like notes unlike anything else in the world. Vin Jaune is a heavily oxidative expression of Savagnin and is becoming a highly sought after and age worthy style for collectors.
